Last Weeks Workouts-Thanksgiving Week
Last Weeks Workouts-Thanksgiving Week

Workout Recap
Last weeks I mixed it up a bit for my workouts. We seem to be in an early winter weather pattern here in New Hampshire so we’ve already had some big snow storms with more coming along tonight. We’ve also had super cold temperatures. It was -1 degree on thanksgiving morning. Then there has been rain making the roadways slick and tough to run on. Also, with the holiday smack dab in the middle of the week the kids were on school vacation so there was plenty of snow fort building, game playing, slime making and general shenanigans. The kids even got to get out on their cross country skis for the first time this year!
Here’s a peek at what I was up to last week!
Monday: CrossFit
A mix of pushups, lunges, backsqauts, wall balls, burpees and Ski Erg.

Crossfit
Tuesday: Spinning
I decided it’s about time I get back into spinning. I am hoping to go every Tuesday to spin although my plans may be foiled this week by another snow day (say what?! Yup, we are supposed to get as much as a foot of snow!). The spin class was an hour long and was awesome! I forgot how much I love spinning with the instructor challenging you with climbs and the good music. I also love being in the group atmosphere. Group training classes are such fun. I am definitely going back for more!
Wednesday: Snowy Run

Such a beautiful wintry dirt road!
On Tuesday I hit the snowy roads for 3.5 miles. It was a little slippery but so pretty out! the temperature was just perfect too! In the high twenties with no wind so I didn’t have to don too many layers.

Thursday (Turkey Day): Treadmill Run 4 Miles

My Thanksgiving Turkeys
Ok, so my turkey trot was on my treadmill in the comfort of my house. It was -1 degree when I got up and I decided to run while I baked my squash for Thanksgiving dinner (of which I had two and then a big feast of leftovers the next day-sooooooo full!).

Friday-Cross Country Skiing on my Skate Skis

Time to go Cross Country skiing
It warmed up to 18 by the time I got to the Nordic Ski Center over in Woodstock, Vermont. Plenty warm with a few layers and when you get your heart rate up skate skiing you warm up very quickly. I had never been to this nordic ski center before. It is just down the road from the Woodstock Inn and Resort on the Golf Course and the surrounding trails on Mt. Tom and Mt. Peg.

Skate Skiing Heaven
This was the perfect place to go for my first time out for the season because you could stay on the golf course which is mostly flat. I definitely felt some muscles that I hadn’t worked for awhile coming back to life and was sore the following day. The conditions were excellent for being so early in the season with beautiful groomed corduroy perfect for working on gliding. I skiied for just over an hour and went just over 6 miles.

Saturday-Treadmill Run
I hit the treadmill for another run on Saturday because my kids were home and we had a busy day planned ahead of us. These were just some more easy miles. I really need to pick some goal races and to get going on a training plan again as I am really not having much direction with my running. As of late most of my running has just been for fun!
Sunday-Day off
So that’s my Thanksgiving week of workouts in a nutshell. I hope you enjoyed a lovely holiday and plenty of delicious food!
What was your favorite workout last week? What was your least favorite workout?

I was just thinking about how I have not done a spin a class in a while. Thinking of getting a Peloton bike. Looks like you had a solid week!
Great job getting your workouts in! I kinda fell off the wagon last week, but I did manage to walk several miles every day so not a total loss!
I need to vary my workouts. I just run.
My favorite was running in NYC because I got to see the holiday decorations.
I also ran a half on sat. It was VERY HILLY but still enjoyed it.
Wow, you’ve got so much snow!! Great job with your workouts – I would love to ski…I tried it years ago and was terrible at it!
I’ve been back to spin class and I really enjoy it!
You’re making me miss the snow! Sounds like a week of solid workouts. My favorite workout was prenatal pilates and my 5K turkey trot was my least fave (had some pain).
On Thanksgiving I ran over 3 miles and I had barely any pain at the end. (I’ve been injured so that makes it my favorite run of the week 🙂
Awesome job on your workouts this week!
I can’t believe that you guys got so much snow. I guess Winter is definitely coming early this year.
So jealous of all that beautiful snow! It’s so peaceful to walk/run/ski in it, and that’s probably one thing I miss out on while living in Florida.
Sounds like you had a lovely Thanksgiving!
My running has been very low-mileage the past month, and I’m alright with that. I did a fun stairway/full-body circuit workout last week that had me sweating like crazy…my favorite way to spend 30 minutes 😉
Wow! You had a great week!! I love the picture of your kids, so cute. I need to try skate skiing, sounds like an incredible workout!!
What a great week! I am loving all this snow as much as you are 🙂 and I will have to check out that Nordic Cross Country Ski Center!! Maybe we can meet up there sometime? Happy winter!
You’ve had a fair amount of snow already! Great job getting your workouts in!
Look at all of that snow! I miss it! My favorite run this week was last Monday…still tank top weather down here!
Great job on your workouts!
Smart to run inside when it was -1 outside! I love the snow pics, but I do not miss having to deal with all that mess!
My favorite workout was teaching my body pump class. My least favorite is doing my physical therapy- it makes me feel weak.
Hope you have a great week!
