What’s next on my racing schedule?

Now that the Wallis Sands Half Marathon has come and gone (read race recap HERE) I need to pick some more races to run for the summer. Currently the only race that I have on my schedule is the Vermont 100 on 100 Relay in August which I will be running as a team of 6.

I will be running with Sarah Canney (Run Far Girl), Natalie (Nat Runs Far), Allie (Vita Train 4 Life), Laura (Mommy, Run Fast) and Angela (Happy Fit Mama). We will be racing as Team Air Supply (I’ll tell you the story about the team name later). I’ve run the VT 100 on 100 before as both a 6 person team and a 3 person ultra team and it’s one of my favorite races. The race starts at Trapp Lodge in Stowe, Vermont and ends at Okemo, Vermont.

For other races this summer I am looking at the Western New Hampshire Trail Running Series which has several awesome trail races in New Hampshire and Vermont. I already ran the Dirty 5K in Hanover New Hampshire on Mother’s Day with my kids. Hopefully I can run at least a couple more of these races.

I am also scheming a way to run the Catamount Ultra Trail 25K in Stowe, Vermont. This race takes place on Saturday, June 22nd. If I am going to run it I need to get a few more long trail runs under my belt beforehand as this race is coming up quickly. It would be fun to get off the roads and to hit the trails for this trail race!

Another fun race that I am considering this summer is the Race to the Top of Vermont. This is a 4.3 mile run up to the top of the tallest mountain in Vermont. The race goes up the Mt. Mansfield Toll Road. This race can also be biked too!
I am not sure which of these races will happen but am looking forward to challenging myself on some different courses!
What races do you have planned for this summer?

Wow these sound like fun! I love relay runs, especially with such a fun group of runners! I’m looking forward to hearing all about that
Your list of races certainly is inspiring! Go get ’em Sandra!!
How fun! I’m going to seek out more trail races. I am running another one in northern Wisconsin next month.

Sounds like a fun summer of racing! I’m doing the Wonder Woman 10k in a couple of weeks and then I don’t think I have anything until September.

Sounds like some great events coming up. I’ve just done a couple of 10km events this month and now need to get some booked in for the summer. I’ve never really considered trail runs, might look for one near me.

Great line-up for the 100 on 100! Sounds like you’ve got some fun races lined up for the summer! At the moment I’ve just got the BAA 10K up next and then I’m kinda up in the air.

Fun times!
So summer is when things die down a bit here. The temperatures just don’t allow for more than a 5K or 5 mile, if you’re feeling frisky.
I will be taking on the BAA 10K in June, followed by the Peachtree Road Race on 4th of July, but other than that, no huge plans.
