Even though the temperatures are beginning to dip and the hunters are out in full force the trails are still open for runners everywhere. All you need are a few extra layers, some hunter safety orange to make you visible in the woods and some running buddies.. I feel very lucky to have amazing trails and mountains to run on where I live. It is my adult “playground.” I am also lucky to have some amazing women to run with who are strong and always ready for adventure.
Are your training partners fearless? Mine are which is awesome because we are all able to push and challenge each other when we need it the most. I attribute some of my success to my friends for providing inspiration. We all have different athletic backgrounds, we all run different speeds but together we empower each other.
This weekend my friend Joanna has decided to set up a challenge run for anyone interested to mix things up a bit and also to add in some speed on trails. Today she went out onto the trails near her home and marked a course for all of us. Little does she know that I may have SURPRISE prizes in store for post race . . .you will have to wait and see!
And for some added fun I am trying out my new trail running shoes tomorrow-Salomon XA 3D Ultra. It was time to get some new ones. It is never good when you can’t remember when you purchased your last pair of running shoes.
