Toad & Co. The Shirred Thing dress. Perfect for summer!

A few weeks ago I was shopping for summer clothes (very happy to be shedding my winter layers) in the amazing outdoor retailer in our area called Farm-Way (Complete Outfitters for Man and Beast) which carries some of my most favorite brands. When I was there I discovered a brand called Toad & Co., upon further inspection I noticed that the clothes looked familiar. Toad & Co. was formerly Horny Toad. They made the switch in January. So happy to discover that they had not just disappeared!

Toad & Co.’s women’s line features some of the softest fabrics that work well even when you are out living life and being active. As a mom I love clothes that are fashionable, yet functional and comfortable too. All of the women’s designs are made from either organic cotton, tencel, or Samba, an eco-friendly jersey knit. I own many skirts and tops from Toad and co. and like the simple designs with small details.

This spring Toad & Co. has a line of dresses out that feature details such as a belted waist or built-in pockets. Their dresses can be dressed up by adding a big beaded necklace or colorful scarf or dressed down for the beach or a day out with your kids with a pair of flip flips. Each design comes in a range of colors from color to navy but also including patterns, stripes and even pretty bird silhouettes.

Toad & Co. recently sent me the Shirred Thing Dress. This sundress will become a staple in my summer wardrobe. I am in love with the Tuareg Flight Print. This print is set on a pretty ocean blue background with lighter blue birds flying across the fabric. Here are some of the great features of the dress:

How could you not love a dress with pockets. The elastic band at the waistline is nice because it accentuates my waistline which I like since I have a somewhat boyish waistline. The dress is also highly functional because it is bra-friendly meaning you don’t have to worry about finding a bra that is hard to wear. It is very easy to hide the straps. I can wear this dress out on the town on date night or out with friends or I can wear it when I am running around with my kids. This dress is so perfect for me that I have actually already ordered another one in Deep Navy which will look great with a nice summer tan.

They are seriously one of my favorite brands! I wear their dresses all summer and also have several pairs of pants, shorts, etc. that are faves. Cute dress! (I need to get to REI!)

I love it! It is so pretty and I’m all about pockets and not having to wear special bras. I never wear halters, backless etc. because I’m not going to go out and buy a specific bra just to wear with those tops or dresses. This is perfect for me!
