Have you discovered Sweaty Betty?
*Disclaimer: This post was sponsored by Sweaty Betty but the opinions are all my own.
You know what’s awesome? Someone finally got the memo that women want flattering, fun, colorful women’s activewear that not only looks good but it performs and fits well too. I love the number of companies that now focus solely on women in sports and the best part is that women run many too! Enter Sweaty Betty. Sweaty Betty was founded by husband and wife Tamara and Simon Hill-Norton in the UK in 1998. Their purpose is to provide women with women’s activewear to empower and inspire. They want to, “inspire women to find empowerment through fitness.”
I began noticing the Sweaty Betty catalogue in my mailbox within the past year or so teasing me with great styles in workout apparel, yoga wear, running attire, and swimwear. For some reason I have always been drawn to British brands such as Boden and Next Direct and now I have Sweaty Betty to add to the list of favorites. Their women’s activewear is designed with function in mind but also has some of the quirkiness that I love from British brands and their summer collection features the best of what’s in for colors this summer.
Now that the weather has gotten warmer and I have been able to shed my layers I prefer running attire that I can wear and be colorful but also comfortable and stay cool. Sweaty Betty has some awesome Sports Bras on their website than can be worn as stand alone pieces especially when the mercury head sup towards 100! I especially love the Sweaty Betty Ultra Run Bra, which is made for the high impact of running and features adjustable straps. The colors are brilliant in Green Alert or Hyperbola Magenta Purple but can also be purchased in the more modest black. Another piece of running attire that caught my eye is the Race Day Short that might be a potential contender for me for running and triathlon training. I am not a fan of traditional running shorts as I find them to be too bulky. The Sweaty Betty Race Day Short is a longer cut short with a higher waist (which they know all Mom’s love!) plus there is a zipper pocket in the back for storing fuel for your workout.
I can’t wait to hit the roads and trails in some Sweaty Betty Gear this summer and am happy that they have decided to migrate “across the pond” to inspire women athletes in the U.S.
