Where do you believe you belong? Do you consider yourself an athlete?

These are some of the questions that we contemplated while journaling and sharing at Rise Run Retreat Running Camp with Lift Run Perform. 32 strong women from all over the country gathered on Lake Winnepesaukee at the Geneva Point Center in Moultonborough to run, learn, and build connections.

The setting is rustic, cabins set back in the woods with a general meeting area and a fire circle out back. Bunk beds for sleeping bring you back to the days of summer camp.

Throughout the weekend we enjoyed inspiring talks from Sarah and informational sessions from the team from Lift Run Perform including founder Mary, an RD, a PT and several trainers. On the first day we broke down into small groups to set intentions for the weekend and to talk about why we run. Then the topics for discussion during the weekend ranged from a discussion of Athletic Identity, to Nutrition and Intuitive Eating, strength training and conditioning, and injury prevention.

We had a short shakeout run the first day just to get the legs moving after a day of travel. Each morning we woke for a run at seven that began with a guided Dynamic Warm-up by Montana. The first day runners broke down into pace groups with one group running 6 miles and several other groups running 4 miles.

In the afternoon on day 1 Sarah led a short 2.5 mile trail run on the trails around the campus of the Geneva Point Center. The trails took us by Lake Winnepesaukee for some beautiful views and through the woods on some slightly technical trails. On day two the morning run was 6 miles or shorter if you chose. We ran down by the lake again and then out onto a bike path that was close to the campus.

Also, in the swag bag were a Rise. Run. Retreat water bottle, goodr sunglasses, a sample of FRE Skincare, a Momentum Jewelry Motivate Wrap, an exercise band from Senita Athletics, Grandy Oats Samples, RX bars and coupons for all kinds of goodies

This was a great weekend getaway and definitely a running retreat/camp not to be missed! You will take time for yourself, build connections with other like-minded women, you will run and you will learn. Sarah also leads Rise. Run. Retreat., a boutique running retreat in the spring set in beautiful Vermont.

Have you ever been to a running camp or running retreat? If you could go to one where would you like to go?

  1. What an amazing retreat! I’ve never been to a running/fitness camp or retreat, but I would love to go to one. There’s just something about being surrounded with so many like minded and inspirational women!

  2. This looks like so much fun. I would love to do something like this but I would be so intimidated by all the amazing people around me. I love the beautiful views!

  3. What a fun weekend! Sounds like the perfect weekend away for any runner!
I have not been able to run for a few years, but I still feel like an athlete with my weight lifting and cycle classes that I take and teach!
