Weekly Workout Recap Week of July 9, 2018

Organic Runner Mom’s Weekly Workout Recap
Trail running, CrossFit, and even a road ride on my bike! It’s time for my latest weekly workout recap!
Monday
Rest Day. After the Loon Mountain Race on Sunday my legs needed a break. So for Monday I took it easy and enjoyed taking my dog Teddy Bear for a walk on our dirt road.
Tuesday

CrossFit
CrossFit. I haven’t been doing as much CrossFit this summer because it has just been too nice outside so I have been back to running a lot more. Tuesday I headed to the CrossFit Box for a solid sweaty workout. We started with weightlifting. Hang Power Cleans were the name of the game, working to get a max weight. I am still highly focused on form so not going too heavy so finally my form is improving! After that we did a METCON with an AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) in 20 minutes. The workout was as follows: 200m run, 8 hang power cleans, 200 m run, 10 pull ups, 200m run, 12 Toes to Bar, 200 m run, 14 calories-Bike, ski, or row. Needless to say I got my butt kicked but in a good way!
Wednesday

Trail Running in Norwich, Vermont
Trail Run. What a perfect day to explore some new trails with my friend Lily. Lily is training for the Spartan Ultra Beast and many other Obstacle Course races so needs to build up her running mileage. We hit the trails on Wednesday for 8 miles in the woods. The trail had some challenging uphills but was mostly gorgeous rolling single track through the woods. I can’t wait to explore on those trails with her again soon.
Thursday

Hill Sprints
Hill Sprints. It’s been quite awhile since I attempted hill sprints but I decided it was time to mix it up and to do something a bit different. The dirt road leading to my house is the perfect hill because it is a dead end so no traffic and has a nice grade to it. I hit the hill for 8X 1/10th of mile with recovery in between on the downhill with a warm up and cool down for a total of 20 minutes. Even though it was short this workout did its job!
Friday
CrossFit. My second CrossFit session of the week included wall balls, jump roping, overhead cleans, over head squats and pull ups.
Saturday

Trail Running Heaven
More trail running! Yes! This trail run was with my friend Bridget who was one of the women that I first started running with. We ran on 7 miles of gorgeous trails near her house in Danville, Vermont and did some much needed chatting on the run. It was so humid on the run and we were both drenched with sweat by the time that we finished.
Sunday

Biking
Biking. I haven’t been on my bike all summer so it was time. I need to get out on my bike more! I did a 17.7 mile loop near my house in one hour 17 minutes. It felt pretty good to be back on my bike although I am sore in places that I haven’t been sore in awhile today. It was the perfect time to ride. It was the evening so there weren’t to many cars on the road and the temperature was just perfect. On my next ride I get to take out my new Cervelo Triathlon Bike. I am psyched!

Love all your workout photos this week! Shows all the variety of your different workouts this week.
That trail looks awesome for running, and so pretty too!
My favorite workout this week was my indoor spinning class yesterday. The music was awesome.
Such great photos and what a great variety in workouts for you this week! You know I mostly love that you’re back on the bike 🙂 I really know about all those sore sports – LOL!!
Nice week of workouts! Yes, I tried Bootcamp at CrossFit this week! I need more cardio in my life. Hoping to someday get to those CrossFit classes.
Thanks for linking up!!
You have such amazing trails to run on, I don’t blame you for wanting to be outdoors! I’ve been on my bike a few times this year. It’s a nice change of pace!
I have been running a lot of trails lately too. The other week I ventured off a new one and kind of got lost, but had a great long run that day:)
I did an almost exact hill sprint workout last week as well… 8 repeats (and recovery runs back down) on an approximate 1/10th of a mile 😉
I’m torn between running outside and opting for the air conditioning. I miss my studio workouts when it’s nice out, but I feel like nice weather calls for a run. That CrossFit workout looks tough, but they all do!
Such a great mix of workouts! Those trails look very inviting! My favorite workout this week was definitely my kickboxing class!
I really miss lifting weights! I hope I can get back into doing that again soon!
Those trails look so pretty! That’d definitely make running more interesting for me! 😛
Great job out there! I need to get back on my bike, too. It’s been sitting there but I confess that I hate having to load up the bikes to go somewhere safe(r) to ride with little man, so I’ve slacked. I need to get over myself and get it done.
You got in such a great variety of workouts last week. Here’s to another great week this week!
