Organic Runner Mom Update

Hello friends! Let’s check-in and see what’s been happening lately and see what races and other fun events are coming up. I have been trying to get my running mileage back up despite the heat wave and heat that continues to roll through New Hampshire. I am not complaining though because soon we will be back to the colder months. My running has been going ok, not great . . . a little lackluster. I have still been trying to get past throwing my back out earlier this summer. I am mostly ok although have extreme stiffness in the mornings. I am thinking that a trip to the chiropractor may be in order to get everything snapped back into proper place. I also have a nagging shoulder issue going on which has been going on for months and I believe is due to CrossFit. I have an ongoing muscle knot in my left shoulder and now I am having some numbness in two of my fingers. I am wondering if I have a compressed/pinched nerve somewhere. Ugh . . . Sorry for all of the complaining. I am just feeling a bit frustrated.
Also, here is just a bit of an update about what I go through with depression from my instagram this week . . .
And now for the fun stuff. Here is what I am going to be up to lately with blogging and running and racing.
Latest update from @organicrunmom. Find out what cool upcoming events and races I’ll be attending. #runchat

Empower Summer Camp

This weekend I head to Michigan to Empower Summer Camp with Sweat Pink. We will be staying at the Ronora Lodge & Retreat Center in Watervliet, Michigan. I can’t wait to spend a weekend paddleboarding, doing yoga, swimming, meditating and talking all things blogging with so many other great Sweat Pink Bloggers. This is going to be a great weekend to relax and rejuvenate. My kids are also at summer camp right now so why not head to adult summer camp!
Vermont 100 on 100 Relay

On August 17th I will be heading out to run the Vermont 100 on 100 Relay with 5 other amazing running bloggers/influencers. The team will consist of me, Sarah Canney (Run Far Girl), Allie (Vita Train 4 Life), Natalie (Nat Runs Far), Laura (Mommy, Run Fast) and Angela (Happy Fit Mama). We spent the weekend hanging out together back in April (?) and decided we needed to put together a team for one of my favorite running events, the VT 100 on 100. The race starts at the Trapp Lodge in Stowe, VT and runs to the Okemo Mountain Resort with all of the scenic miles happening on Vermont’s Route 100. On average each runner will run 16.5 miles. Our Team, Team Air Supply will be sharing about the event as it takes place (as long as we have service haha!) and will be blogging about it too. We hope you will follow along with our running shenanigans!
Ragnar Reach the Beach Relay
Yes, that’s right, I’ve joined a Reach the Beach Relay Team yet again! It’s been a few years since I’ve run RTB and I have to admit I am eager to do it again. This year I will be running with a new team, Run, Rest, Repeat Rise of the Phoenix. So far I know 3 other women on the team which is awesome. This year RTB starts at Bretton Woods NH. I am curious to see how many miles I will get to run over the course of two days!
Smuttynose Rockfest Half Marathon

On October 6 . . . two days after my 43rd birthday I will be running the Smuttynose Rockfest Half Marathon. I chose this race because the course is mainly flat so I hope to better my time from my last half marathon which was a 1:52. I am doing this race with my former sister-in-law Kelly so we are going to make it a fun girls weekend. I love running races on the coast so this should be a fun one.
What fun events and races do you have coming up?

I am really jealous of the summer camp this weekend! It was too far and not logistically workable for me to get there. Can’t wait to hear all about it

That camp this weekend sounds amazing. Can’t wait to hear about it.
You have some awesome races on your schedule.
I plan to run a half in RI and my first full in NYC – both will keep me busy on the training aspect of my life.
I love my chiro…checks me in check. Ish I had discovered this earlier in my running.

I agree with Coco – I’m having serious FOMO about camp – I just couldn’t make it work with my schedule. You’ve got some great races planned. I keep saying I’m going to get to Smuttynose one year – looking forward to hearing what you think of it!

I hope that you have an amazing time at camp this weekend. I am sad that I can’t go but hope to make it next year if they do it again.
