Running again and it feels so good!
Ok, can we just celebrate for a minute? I am very excited (but cautious). Somehow in the past two weeks something seems to have clicked back into place and I have been able to run without pain in my hip or back. Most of my running has been on the treadmill which is fine by me because I am running again! Tonight after a weekend of friends and family celebration I was able to run on my treadmill for 1 hour and I was able to crank up the speed to test out my legs a bit.
Taking time away from running has given me a new appreciation for the strength that my body gives me. I have been reminded of how important it is to take care of your body and while running and racing is amazing and something that I love to do it is also important to give my body the rest that it needs. I have made a promise to myself moving forward that I will listen to my body. If my body shows any signs of potential injury I will choose to take time to rest or to do some other form of exercise. It can be hard to take time away from something that you love to do but it is so important to keep your sights set on what is most important at the time.
I am thankful to be putting the miles back in now and hopefully this forward progress with running will continue . . .
