It’s time to get back on track. March Goals.
Getting back on track and refocusing my goals.

I don’t focus on what I’m up against. I focus on my goals and I try to ignore the rest. Venus Williams
It’s time to check in. I need to set some March goals and to get back on track! It’s been a while since I’ve talked about goals and training. Honestly, it’s been difficult to get into a serious swing with training due to my back being all out of whacked mixed with school vacations and life in general. Just when my back has started to feel really stable I jinxed myself by telling a friend that I have avoided getting bronchitis all winter. Then, BAM!!! Just like that bronchitis hit. Last week was a hard one for our family resulting in poor sleep and feeling down which probably resulted in a weakened immune system opening me up to the petri dish of germs that resides in pre-school and the primary grades. Although it hasn’t been too bad this time around I have been feeling sub-par and not really ready to push my body in some hard training.
Hopefully once the bronchitis clears I can get back on track with my Ironman 70.3 training. I am feeling ready to give running a go again after a very lengthy hiatus. Hopefully the work I have been doing in PT, the rest, and a change in shoes will help my back to remain stable when running. Right now I am maintaining a solid aerobic base but am nowhere near the shape that I was in during my Boston Marathon training cycle last year. I have been working hard in the pool and on the bike. I have been doing strength training twice a week. In addition to that I have been skate skiing and downhill skiing with my family.
Tomorrow morning I hope to press the reset button and to get back on track.
Goals for March
- Start Running again!!!!
- Get back on track with my training from my coach Denise (The Sustainable Athlete)
- Get my sleep cycle back on track. I have had insomnia for about the past year and stay up way later than I should. I need to make a change to this soon. My hope is to get to bed earlier so that I can get an earlier start to the day and feel more refreshed and energized. (Look for a post from me soon with more information about this.)
- Continue incorporating at least one new recipe into our family dinner menu every week.
- Hydrate more during the day as dehydration can add to fatigue!
- Set my summer Triathlon schedule and get to work!
Now that I’ve shared my goals for this month I’d love to hear yours! Putting your goals into writing can help create personal accountability and its great to celebrate each others achievements!
P.S. Don’t forget to enjoy the extra hour of daylight! I know I am excited about it!

I have definitely taken sleep more seriously the past few years. I feel like my body need 7-8 hours of sleep, so I aim to be asleep by 9pm every night!

My goals for March are to complete my first half marathon of the year injury free, do crossfit 3 days a week (once I get over this crummy cold) and try to stick to my healthy diet (I’ve been getting off track lately).

My big goal is to do a box jump. A proper box jump.
Great goals! I don’t really set monthly goals but I am working on some Spring cleaning right now!
Great goals this month! I like how you have broken them down! 🙂 My goalS this month are to stay consistent with my training the final weeks leading up to Boston. 🙂

Blech. Sorry to hear about the bronchitis. That can set one back for sure. My goal all year has been to learn to swim well enough to complete my first tri. Still working on that!
My big goal is to work towards running a continuous 5K by the end of the month and see steady progress on weight loss.

I am really working on having more fun with my fitness activities and not taking myself so seriously. If I want to ditch a run or a workout to go play tennis instead, I am gonna do it! 🙂
Have a great month!

I’ve always found that putting my goals in writing helps me to stay on track. My big goal this month is to PR at my half marathon in 2 weeks.
Great goals! Love your motivation. I’ve found recently I have to rethink my goals – can’t set the same kinds I used too. If I do I’ll miss them each time because life just isn’t the same right now. My goals now are simply to run a few times a week, even if it’s just a mile at a time, and get in two workouts (non running) a week.
One of my goals is to get better sleep as well but my 3 year old is up at least once a night so that makes it pretty tough. What I wouldn’t give for a good nights sleep!
I am looking forward to spring and running and biking outside. I need to stay hydrated better as well!

I don’t have specific march goals but I just tweaked my 2015 goals. Priorities and focus change so my goals changed too.
I am trying to get my goals going for March but I ended up on vacation so things have been put to a hault which is ok with me! Thanks for getting me motivated for April! xo C

My March goals are to keep running at heart rate (140), get in the miles I need for my May relay and to keep working on my pushups! I’m hoping to get to 10 good ones by April.

I’ve been having sleep issues lately too. I know I should go to bed earlier but never end up doing it because I’m a night owl and am not tired…but my main issue has been waking up every 2-3 hours int he middle of the night, last night I woke up at 3, and was in and out of sleep until 5 am when I finally got back to sleep. needless to say I am so tired today!
