Friday Five. Finding inspiration through fitness bloggers.
It’s Friday and I’m heading off to Maine for the Rise. Run. Retreat., a running bloggers retreat and the Maine Half Marathon. I am so excited to spend the weekend talking about two of the things that I love the most this weekend, running and blogging. After this weekend I am going to shift gears a bit and take a break from racing. While keeping my sites set on some Triathlons and Marathons for next spring and summer I am going to mix things up this winter to keep my body healthy and strong. This means amping up my fitness routines by adding in a Bootcamp (eek!), perhaps some HIIT, core training, and definitely stepping up my strength training routines. Never fear, I’ll still be swimming, biking, and running too and also enjoying some of my favorite outdoor sports, skate skiing and snowshoeing.
To stay motivated with my shift away from racing (at least for a a little bit . . . who knows how long I can hold off from signing up for another race) I am going to keep my self motivated by reading some of my favorite blogs as well as checking out some new ones too! Here are some of my current favorite fitness blogs (which for me include running and triathlon blogs too!)
Five Fitness Bloggers to Follow!
Cynthia is an inspirational triathlete and working mom of three amazing kids. She is a Luna Chix Ambassador as well as a SOAS ambassador. Cynthia juggles a busy schedule while still managing to squeeze in her swimming, biking, and running workouts as well as writing her motivating blog. Cynthia has contagious energy and a drive to always do more and to work harder. She was an inspiration to me during my first Half Ironman this summer! Follow Cynthia on her blog or find her on social media as she follows her triathlon and fitness quests!
Katie is an Asics Ambassador and is preparing to run the NYC Marathon. Katie’s blog is filled with tips for how to stay fit as a busy working mom. She has been a big proponent of stroller running and even helped to get National Stroller Running Day started with BOB strollers (I miss running with my two cuties in the BOB!). Katie is honest and writes and shares on her blog and on social media with energy and passion.
Jill Conyers is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer as well as a busy mom. She shares healthy recipes, tips for daily living, workouts to rock your core and more. Jill is also an accomplished runner racing everything including ultra-marathons. Her passion for health and fitness will keep you reading!
Muscles and Munchkins
Hollie is a Certified Personal Trainer who leads large fitness classes. When she is not at the gym she is a busy mom of two and healthy foods advocate. On her blog you will find a mix of awesome workouts, family fun and great recipes to share.
I began following Tiffany’s blog when many of you knew her as Running Hutch. I discovered her blog through the Run this Year mileage challenge that she hosted along with Jill Conyers. Tiffany has energy that is contagious not only on her blog but also in person. Tiffany shares her journey tackling new distances as a runner and now as a soon to be Mom.
Now that I have shared my current top favorite fitness bloggers I’d love to hear yours! Please share in the comments!
