5 Fall Running Essentials for Women Runners
Believe it or not but fall is creeping in here in New England. New Hampshire summer was cool and wet. Check out my Friday 5 picks this week for some essential items that you may want to add into your running closet.

Wearsafe Tag. Safety for Women Runners.
Wearsafe Tag #ReclaimYourRun #WeRunSafe
Feeling safe when you are running is always of concern especially for women runners. I was super excited when Wearsafe reached out to me and asked me to join their ambassador team. What is Wearsafe? A Wearsafe Tag is a Wearable button (or you can put it on your key chain) that you pairs with an app on your phone. The Wearsafe Tag is water resistant and works within a 200 Ft of your phone to provide realtime information when you press the button.
“Once you press the Tag, the Bluetooth-paired app sends an alert to your most trusted allies. You choose who you call in an emergency — your friends, coworkers, family — and set up each unlimited network for different situations. Use the Tag, or send an alert right from the home screen. “

Wearsafe Ambassador
You choose who you want the alerts to go out to so that help can be coordinated if you have an emergency. With the press of a button your Wearsafe tag provides your location, audio, and connects to a group chat so that help can be received. The members of your groups will also have access to your medical information if needed.

Skirt Sports Wonder Wool Collection

Fall and Skirt Sports Wonder Wool
I have been a Skirt Sports Ambassador for a long time now because I just love this company and their products so much. Founded by Triathlete Nicole DeBoom, Skirt Sports makes running and athletic gear for Real Women of all shapes, sizes and abilities. She and her company always do an amazing job of listening to what their customers want and bringing new products into their lines based on what women runners need. The latest collection to be added is no different. Have you seen the new Skirt Sports Wonder Wool Collection. So far I have the Wonder Wool Tee and wonder Wool Long sleeve and I am in the love. First of all the fit of these shirts is fantastic. The fit is flattering but not too tight, comfortable for running and working out and the long sleeve even has thumbholes! Wool has come along way and is not longer itchy. The fabric in the Wonder Wool collection is a blend of polyester and Thermo-Wool terry and mesh fabrics. The fabrics are soft soft and breathable and provide extra warmth, perfect for cooler fall days. Take a peek at the Collection: Skirt Sports Wonder Wool.
Hoka One One Stinson ATR 4 Women’s Running Shoes

Hoka One One Stinson ATR 4 for Women Runners
The Hoka One One Stinson ATR was my first pair of Hoka One One’s. I had always told my running friends I was not sure that I would ever try a maximal trail shoe. I finally gave in however and purchased the Stinson’s. I immediately fell in love. This was the best trail shoe that I had ever worn. Previously I had never found a trail shoe that offered traction like these. New Hampshire trails are often root and rock covered and when they are wet a trail running shoe without enough traction can spell disaster. The Hoka One One Stinson ATR was a game changer for me. I loved the maximal cushioning and the moderate stability provided by this shoe. The Heel to toe drop is 5.0 mm. These shoes have tightly packed lugs on the soles and are very durable. I have been running in this shoe on the trails and dirt roads. One thing that I love too is that these shoes now come in a wider variety of colors.
Embrace the Hill Trucker Hat from Run Far Gear

Embrace the Hill Trucker Hat from Run Far Gear
If you haven’t noticed the trucker hat trend is here to stay especially in the trail and mountain running communtiy. The designs of truckers have much improved over the earlier foam ill-fitting truckers that you intially think of. They now come in all colors and designs. Currently I am in love with Trucker hats that have a photo emblazoned on the front of the hat. My friend Sarah from Run Far Girl and Run Far Gear is a road runner who has now become hooked on running in the mountains and on trails. She is currently selling a Trucker Hat emblazoned with the words “Embrace the Hill,” a phrase she used to get her through a difficult time where one of her children needed extended medical care from our local hospitalChildren’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock. She has applied this phrase as a mantra to carry through difficult situations in life and in running. The photo pictured on the front is an early morning silhouette of Sarah in a strong pose on top of one of our local New Hampshire Mountains. 10% of all sales on Run Far Gear go to the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock.

What are some of your favorite fall finds for running and working out?

Another reason I love the change of seasons is the changing of gear!! I need to get me one of those trucker hats…since I only have about 6 at this point 🙂 And I just bought some new Brooks kicks that I absolutely love. I’m looking forward to snuggling into some good long-sleeve tops soon too!

I’m thinking I might give HOKA’s a try during this pregnancy. I need a roomier fit and some more cushion. Not for the pushin. Just cushion.

I love Fall, especially for running! I follow Mirna on social media and I am really looking forward to her book!
Fall running is the best! The crisp air! I can’t wait to read her book either!
I’m still trying to embrace the change of seasons. (UGH. Summer is my favorite). Probably my favorite running gear thing is a set of arm warmers….they do double duty with looking good and also keeping one warm (without all the bulk of another layer of clothing). I have four pairs, and another pair on the way 😉
Since fall seems to have blown right in here I’ve enjoyed pulling out my capris and long sleeve tops. I’m also thankful for Runlights now that we’re losing daylight.
I was literally just on the WearSafe website. I think I’m getting the pod. Have you had to use it?

That tag is really smart. I also love my Hoka’s!
All great ideas, and I’m especially in favor of anything safety related! I had a bad scare when I was by myself one day. And as unpleasant as it is to have to think about things like this, we really should, and take precautions.
I gotta check out these goodies! I wanna get that tag and book!!! Thanks for sharing!!
The Wearsafe device sounds really interesting. I’m going to need to look into it for myself since my husband is constantly worried when I head out for a run by myself, or just myself and my little man.

I love Hokas and I have a pair of their trail running sneakers and they are great! The Stinson look awesome, I will have to see if my running store carries them.
