Cows, Running, and Stonyfield Yogurt!

You are probably wondering what cows, running and Stonyfield yogurt have in common?

MOO! Translation: Well hello there!

MOO! Translation: Well hello there! I especially love the name of this cow. Her name is Pledge. I “Pledge” to only eat organic food!

It was all about the cows on my run today (and of course it is always about chickens . . . but I will spare you any lame yolks . . . I mean jokes. Haha!). Ironically today I found out I will now be a Stonyfield Yo-Getter (more on that later) and then on my run it was here a cow there a cow, everywhere a cow, cow . . .

I love where I live because it is in the middle of nowhere New Hampshire and my town still remains strong in its agricultural roots. I am proud to live in a farming community especially because our family organic egg farm (Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs) continues to thrive and also to help support the growth of other family farms right in our tiny town! But enough about the chickens and eggs.  Around every turn today it seemed as though I ran into cows with their sweet big eyes and giant wet noses staring me down as I ran by. Did you ever notice the odd gait of a cow on a run?

Today I soaked in my run. It feels like ages since my last run. I snuck out for a run midweek last week at a point when I thought I was feeling better and then my cold took a rapid turn for the worse. I finally felt my energy returning yesterday so today was happy for a warm fall day and some quiet on the trails. I took it nice and easy today trying to avoid instigating any coughing.  The workout today was an easy base run. 40 minutes of time to reflect and soak in the beauty of my surroundings. My run was just what I needed. It was cleansing and the views made me happy. Especially the cows watching my every move.

We're watching you!!! I wonder if they are telling me to mooooooove on by?

I’m a Stonyfield Yo-Getter!

I also learned today that I am now a Stonyfield “Yo-Getter” (again ironic that I was hanging out with a bunch of cows on my run today)! A “Yo-Getter” is a blogger “who understand the importance of feeding their families in a healthy way. As a “Yo-Getter” I will be sharing awesome Stonyfield products with you and more about the importance of organic in my family and why organic eating is important for keeping your family healthy.

Of course this is a natural fit for me seeing as our family business is organic eggs (Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs). We work hard to cook meals and provide foods for our family that is organic (#petsticidefree) and unprocessed. Stonyfield yogurt and milk are always on my shopping list especially because they are organic but also because we believe in their mission–”We’re committed to healthy food, healthy people, a healthy planet and healthy business.”

  1. Congrats on the Stonyfield gig. I hope they love your dry humor as much as we do! And I was scared of cows for a long time because one licked me with her very green tongue when I was young and it freaked me out! I love your pictures – they are very appealing.
