I’m joining Cabot Fit Team 2017!
Earlier this summer I was supposed to join Cabot Cheese to run the Beach to Beacon 10K. But my body had a different idea. Instead of running this iconic 10K for a company that I love I was snoozing in my bed recovering from a case of acute tonsilitis with complications. Such a bummer! Bu now I am excited to announce that I am joining the CABOT Fit Team 2017!
The Cabot Fit Team‘s mission “is focused on increasing awareness about the importance of wellness through nutrition and exercise.” I am very excited to be representing Cabot Cheese in this way as Cabot is a B corps (Just like our family business Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs). Cabot is also a Cooperative of Family Farms which is so important in supporting the family farms that are an important cornerstone in the changing landscape of our food systems in the United States. Cabot’s work as a Co-op is very important in ensuring that small family farms will continue to have a place in our food systems. Cabot also uses sustainable processes in making their cheeses and other products at their creameries through the use of solar power and water conservation efforts.
As a member of the team I will be traveling to Rhode Island the weekend of the October 1st (Almost my birthday!) to run the Ocean Road 10K in Naragansett. The 10K runs along the coast of Rhode Island from Point Judith Lighthouse to the Town Beach in Narragansett. I haven’t raced a 10K in a long time and am really looking forward to racing this shorter faster distance! We will also have a Cabot Creamery Farm Tour. In addition to members of Cabot’s awesome nutrition team I will be spending the weekend with 5 other Bloggers: Nellie Acevedo-Brooklyn Active Mamma, Christy Brissette-80 20 Nutrition, Aggie Goodman-Aggie’s Kitchen, Amee Livingston-Amee’s Savory Dish, Heather Montgomery-Through Heather’s Looking Glass. I am looking forward to a weekend of running, nutrition and of course CHEESE!
Be sure to follow along on my cheddar adventures here and on my instagram!
