Yesterday I had a training run that was just perfect. On the schedule from Coach Denise (The Sustainable Athlete)was an hour and a half of trail running. I was not able to do the whole run on the trails because the earlier part of the day was filled with 3 year old birthday fun at my son’s dinosaur birthday party (The party was a roaring success. I can’t believe he is already 3!).
After the party my heart was full of gratitude for the wonderful people that I have in my life–my husband, my two little sweeties, and all of our friends. The day was just perfect. After the party I was tired but needed to get out and get some time on my legs. I have been feeling pretty good overall on my runs lately. My foot is only a minor nuisance now(read here to find out about my time in the BOOT), lately it has not been sore but just feels tight after a longer run. I am continuing to do my strengthening exercises from PT.
I am soaking in the New Hampshire summer for all its worth trying to store up a secret cache of summer sunshine to carry me through the cold gray winter months that we all know lay ahead . . . Here are some of the summer views. 9.6 Miles of summer running bliss. It was just what I needed as I prepare for the JAY PEAK TRAIL RUNNING FESTIVAL 25K next weekend!
