Today you should be celebrating all of your amazing accomplishments and be sure to celebrate the strong women around you by telling them how proud of them you are!
This years campaign is #BalanceForBetter and is all about creating a gender equal world.That’s why today, and every day we need to highlight strong women who are making a difference and who are leading with their voices and their actions. Today I want to share 5 women that inspire me on International Women’s Day and every day.
Today I want to highlight my friend Olivia who has created Salary Coaching for Women a business where she and her team help to empower women to land their dream careers and to negotiate for the pay that they deserve. She is working hard to create a movement by helping women to find their voice in going after their dreams and what they deserve. Today I want to highlight Mirna Valerio, The Mirnavator. A runner, ultra runner and mom who is a voice for women runners of all shapes and sizes, all speeds, and from all walks of life. Mirna has shown the world through her vibrant personality, goals and dedication to what she loves that you can go after what you want no matter who you are. She has show the world that no one should or can stand in the way of your dreams.
Today I want to highlight Nicole DeBoom. Nicole is the founder of Skirt Sports. She had a vision to create the first running skirt for women and made that dream a reality. She now leads a company that has most recently come out with a running apparel collection for all sizes (1X-3X). and shapes giving all women the comfort, confidence, and performance ready gear that they deserve to get out and move their bodies however they choose.
Today I want to highlight blogger, author, podcaster and speaker Rachel Hollis, who most recently published Girl, Stop Apologizing. Her books are motivational and help women to see the value in changing their thinking to go after their goals and desires. She does everything with great humor and opens herself up to vulnerability to be a leader for women. If you haven’t picked up any of her books yet I suggest that you check them out.
Today I want to highlight Molly Barker, founder of Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run was founded in 1996 to inspire adolescent girls to through running and a curriculum to “nurture physical, emotional and spiritual health.” Girls on the Run now has Chapters in all 50 states with over 100,00 volunteers making this program a reality. We need organizations like this to help empower girls at a young age to see that they can achieve their goals when they set their minds to believing that they can do it!
