Initially when I think of Reebok I think of all the tennis shoes that my mom had when I was a kid. She played a lot of tennis and there were always Reeboks in the house. But did you know that Reebok now makes running shoes? Recently Reebok introduced the Harmony Road and received a Runner’s World 2017 Award for Best Debut Running Shoe. Reebok is a global brand with the belief that we all have the potential to do great things in life. They create high performance products to lead you on your path to reaching those goals.

My impression Reebok Harmony Road Running Shoe
This shoe surprised me. Initially they felt heavy when I took them out of the box but they are actually no heavier than other shoes that I train in and once I had them on they felt light on my feet. I have a tough foot to fit-high arch, high instep, narrow foot, narrow heel, and I over-pronate so my feet can be tough to fit. I am a run shoe fit specialists nightmare!
The Reebok Harmony Road Shoe fits well through the midsole keeping my foot firmly in place in the shoe. The arch support is also moderately high and felt good underfoot. Sometimes too high of an arch support will force your foot too far. This shoe has a moderate heel drop, nothing too extreme so it is not a hard shoe to transition into from other shoes. The heel also fits well and the toe box is roomy but not too wide. I found the fit to be true to size leaving me with room for comfort in the toe box which is important for distance running. Despite being made with lighter weight materials these shoes do have a stiffer feel at first but after a few wearings they get more flex in the midsole.
The Harmony Road is made to be a distance shoe. Since I am just coming off running the Boston Marathon I haven’t been able to test them out yet on longer distance runs (my legs are still in recovery mode!) but will soon as Half Ironman training is now in full swing!. The shock absorbing Tri-zone midsole with Kooshlan TPU is made to help over longer distances. This shoe provides some stability although it is not a stability specific shoe design.
The latest running shoe release from Reebok is available in both Women’s and Men’s Models. This shoe retails for $119.99. The price tag doesn’t seem too hefty because these shoes have sturdy construction and the high abrasion rubber outsole on the shoe is very durable. These running shoes are great on paved roads, dirt roads and even smooth single track trail. The one thing I would love to see is more fun color choices for the next model of the Harmony Road!
