CLIF Organic Energy Food Pouches (New Flavors)

Last summer I was introduced to the new Clif Organic Energy Food which comes in easily portable pouches and immediately fell in love. This fueling source was exactly what a had been looking for. When I am training for longer distances such as marathons, trail marathons and Half Ironman triathlon distance my body needs tons of food to keep my body moving. During my training I have found that my digestion is better when I eat real food instead of relying on processed food to get me through (although I often use Clif Shots and other gels on race day as they are easy to carry in my pockets in my Skirt Sports or in my tri top).

Clif Organic energy food pouches are a staple for the longer miles. I’ll often have one before I begin a training run or ride and loved having the banana mango with coconut within a half hour of starting both the Eastern States 20 Miler and the Boston Marathon. They are so delicious and so easy to digest.  I can throw the pouches in my hydration pack and enjoy them mid ride or run.

Now Clif has introduced two new flavors: Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal and Banana Maple Oatmeal. What could be better! I am an oatmeal addict. It’s what I often eat for breakfast before I head out for my training. These new pouches allow me to have my oatmeal prior to getting going in case I don’t have enough time to have a hot bowl of oatmeal. The Clif Organic Food Pouches are all USDA Organic, Non-GMO, and Kosher.

  1. I would love to try the banana oatmeal one. I don’t do very long exercise sessions or runs, so I don’t worry too much about fueling myself, but I do enjoy fruit leather after a run.

  2. These sound really good I haven’t seen them in the store by me yet, but I would try the cinnamon apple flavor first.

  3. The banana maple oatmeal flavor sounds yummy to me. I usually eat bananas and peanut butter toast before a long run or hike.
