New Balance Running Gear Must Haves #thisisboston
Disclaimer: New Balance provided me with shoes and apparel for my Boston Marathon training and for my review. All opinions expressed here are my own.
The New Balance Pulse Bra
In search of a good sports bra for spring running. The New Balance Pulse Bra (Retail $45.99) is a a great one to add to your list. When I am choosing a sports bra there are 4 things that I always look for.
- Is it moisture wicking?
- Chafe proof?
- Style (because soon it will be sports bra running weather!)
The Pulse Bra is very supportive. Instead of a traditional racerback this sports bra has a T back design. I have worn this bra on many training runs including long runs and the bounce factor is low. This is an encapsulation bra (meaning it contains each “girl” separately but also uses compression. I love the soft fabric as it feels great against my skin but it is also moisture wicking, made with NB Dry technology. Moisture wicking is so important to help cut down on chafing. There are also mesh panels included in the design which also helps with breathability of the fabric. There are seams on the inside that might bother some runners extended training runs but no matter what I always apply some sort of lubricant to those tricky, prone-to chafing areas anyways. I have the New Balance Pulse Bra in Lime Glo with Vivid Jade so if I decide to run in just my sports bra I will be visible and bright.
New Balance Perfect Tank
I love running in tank tops! I love being able to run with nothing hindering my arm movement (basically I just love running when it is warm out and I can get nice and sweaty!). The New Balance Perfect Tank (Retail: $39.99) is just that, PERFECT!. I adore the super soft fabric, a blend of polyester and spandex. This tank top is tunic length which is great on my longer torso. It has shirring at the side seams so is extra flattering. It is also very functional with a racer back that has an opening by the shoulder blades for breathability. This tank also has New Balance Dry Technology for great moisture wicking. I may have to add a few more of these tanks to my running wardrobe!
New Balance VIZ Tight
A pair of black running tights are a great staple for any runners wardrobe but the New Balance VIZ Tight (Retail: $89.99) goes the extra mile by adding in visibility. As a runner it is so important to be seen on the road. This running tight has Graphic reflective taping for great visibility. The reflective taping is placed on the legs in striping that is functional and flattering. The Viz tight also has ventilation on the legs with tiny laser perforations behind the knees. The waist band is very comfortable and there is a drawstring at the waist. I also like that there is a small zipper pocket on the pocket to carry a key, an ID, or an energy gel.
New Balance Reflective Light Packable Jacket
Spring in New England while warm also still requires layers and often a wind breaker. The New Balance Reflective Light Packable Jacket (Retail: $129.99) is a perfect jacket for training runs on cooler days. If you run with a pack, it is easy to stow and store when you get hot. You can also stow the entire jacket into the zipper pocket on the chest making it nice and small for packing for your next running adventure. There are glow logos and reflective striping also making this something great to wear when you are looking to be more visible when you are running. The fit is comfortable with room to move during your hardest running workout. I love the cut because it is slim and athletic and the hem drops a little in the back. I also like that there is a hood because when the weather gets wild and you are at the farthest point on your run hoods become necessary!
The 2017 BOSTON Edition Fresh Foam Zante v3
Ok, so these shoes will be available for a limited time only if you are looking for the Boston Marathon Edition (Retail $114.99). These shoes are sweet! I have to admit I haven’t run in mine yet because of superstition . . . the race is on Monday and because as you marathoners all know I can’t try anything new right before the race.
I will be sporting them around Boston though for the marathon festivities. For the Boston Marathon edition these shoes come with the words “Run Boston” emblazoned on the soles (So cool!). They also feature star detailing and the colors are purple and black, colors of royalty in the rich tradition of the city of Boston. The Fresh Foam Zante has a 6 MM drop. The shoes use the Fresh Foam technology for a cushioned ride! I’ll let you know what I think when I take them for a spin.
What do you think about all of this awesome New Balance Gear? Have you ever run in New Balance Shoes before? Are you a tank top or t-shirt kind of runner?
