The Mizuno Baton

I first heard about the Mizuno Baton, a running app from Mizuno,  from Stuft Mama.  The idea behind the Mizuno Baton is that you will activate the app and run as many miles as possible for one week.  For each mile you run, Mizuno will donate $1 to Back on My Feet Back on My Feet is a nonprofit organization that helps those experiencing homelessness turn their lives around through running.  The Mizuno Baton is a part of the Mizuno, “What if Everybody Ran?” campaign.  I am excited to activate my baton and hope you will take the baton and pass it along to one of your running friends!

Fruit Kabobs with Ginger Lemon Sauce from The Lemon Bowl

This recipe from Liz Della Croce over at the blog The Lemon Bowl is a great addition to a Memorial Day picnic.  I know this is a recipe that my kids would love and fruit is always more fun when served kabob style.  The Ginger Lemon yogurt sauce is playful and will appeal to kids and grown-ups.

Running Drills

Are you looking to improve your running speed this sumer? Competitor Magazine has some simple running drills that you can add into your running workouts to help you with form and to make you a more efficient runner. Some of the drills include grapevines (I know, totally old school) and bounding.  To find additional drills head on over to Competitor Magazine HERE.

Say Cheese!

It’s been a tough week in the Organic Runner Family Household. Organic Runner Girl has had a terrible virus with high fevers. In the midst of all of it, she lost a tooth and my kids were able to have a few fun and happy moments and give me these amazing smiles! Hopefully she is finally on the mend so we can have more of these great smiles!

  1. The Mizuno Baton sounds pretty cool, though I’m tapering this week, so maybe I’ll activate it the week of my marathon.

Grapevines sound a lot cooler when you call them cariocas (or kariokes, never sure of the spelling). Tina Muir had a great post on runner’s drills today too.

Hope your girl is feeling better. Love those missing teeth 🙂
