Coming across the finish line at the 2016 TCS NYC Marathon

The TCS New York City Marathon really tested me yesterday! I ran my heart out on the course yesterday and am so proud of my finish. I had to dig extra deep yesterday to cross that finish line and while I miss another Boston Qualifier by about 4 minutes I finiished 292 in my age group (40-49-Woohoo)!!!! and 1897 for all female finishers!!!!! There were highs and there were lows. What an incredible run through the five boroughs of New York City. It’s more than the finish time but the power I felt on the run seeing so many others running for charity teams and guides leading disabled runners and all of the people giving up such positive energy to lift the runners up as we traveled 26.2 miles. This was such a great experience to run for the kids and families at the Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech and for my family who have had their lives impacted by hearing loss. This surely was a race experience of a lifetime and I can’t wait to write more about it!!!

  1. That course kicked my butt especially the bridges and hills. It was definitely a good running experience. It was nice meeting you and the other lady from Arkansas or Alabama, on the ferry. Good luck at Boston.
